kyo's beautiful wedding

In case you are getting anxious to see beautiful photos of Kyo & Tim's wedding (since I've been blogging at a snail's pace lately) you should check them out here: Sweet Little Photographs.

They are soooo beautiful!!

[I snagged this photo off the photographer's website, so all credits for this beautiful photo go to the lovely photographers, Merrill and Tim at Sweet Little Photographs!]

BYOC(hipotle)

I just got finished celebrating Cinco de Mayo at a "Bring Your Own Chipotle" party at my apartment. What a brilliant - and delicious - idea! We ended up with more guacamole than we could eat... which is never really a bad thing.

Happy Cinco de Mayo!

game changer

Thanks to my well-informed roommate, Katherine, I made a life-changing discovery tonight: there is a 16 Handles only a few short blocks from my apartment. It's NY's version of Yogurt Mountain and I felt very obligated to check it out considering my allegiance to Yogurt Mtn. So I did... and it was soooooooo good!

more to come...

The wedding this weekend was an absolute blast! The venue, the Alder Manor, was stunning and so charming, the weather was terrific for an outdoor wedding, and the party could not have been more fun!! I'm still gathering all my pictures together from my camera, iphone, and other friends' cameras... so those will be posted shortly. And, Kyo and Tim...they were the prettiest couple around.

The picture above was taken on a miniature polaroid camera! All the guests were asked to take a photo and place it in the guest book next to where they signed. Isn't that the best idea ever?! Kyo designed the entire wedding, and since she is a window designer at Polo Ralph Lauren, you can imagine how beautiful, creative and detail oriented the entire wedding was...

an easter brunch

I'm currently running around my apartment like a chicken with my head cut off (which seems to have been the trend all weekend...)! Katherine and I are getting our food prepared to have our fellowship groups over for an Easter brunch. I can smell the cinnamon rolls cooking now...more pictures to come later!

i saw the sign!

I saw the Easter Subway poster that I designed for the Women's Bible Society! And, I saw it 2 days in a row. The people on the train next to me, I'm sure, thought I was nuts for taking so many photos of this sign; but, nonetheless, I was undeterred and snapped away. You may remember when I did the Christmas poster for the WBS in December. They asked me to recreate the same design with a few directives to make it more appropriate for Easter.  They changed a few things from the original design after I submitted it, but I was happy they commissioned me to do the work again. And, I'm hoping to see the poster a few more times before it comes down!

goodnight moon

You can't see it as perfectly in this picture as I could see it in person, but there was a beautiful moon out tonight when I was uptown at the 96th Street subway stop and Broadway. It looked stunning when contrasted against the red tail lights.

goodnight stars, goodnight air.

goodnight noises everywhere.

the wedding

As I mentioned earlier, Brendan and I had a wedding to attend last weekend! It was loads of fun: a small wedding filled with good friends, getting to be a part of Mon & Kev's special day, and dinner and dancing afterwards (er, just dinner for me). We didn't take many pictures, so I'm hoping Monica will share once she gets back from St Lucia or sometime in the future. But, at least Brendan and I managed to get at least one picture, which is sometimes rare!

what I did this Friday night:

I became a godmother to this adorable little puppy! I accompanied my friend, Megan, to pick up this little cutie!! Meg was still a tiny bit hesitant on whether she should get a dog or not...and she wanted someone to go with her to take a look at the puppy. (And, of course, I'm always one for going to look at puppies.) Once we got there, who could have turned down this little face? We knew immediately he was a keeper. Luckily, this little guy's sister had a potential new owner or I might have snagged one for myself too...but for now, I'll settle on being the best puppy godmother ever!

bowery valentine's party

Last weekend I spent my Sunday afternoon decorating the lovely dining room of an Upper East Side women's home for the Bowery Mission Women's Center. My roommate Katherine volunteers weekly with the BMWC and takes the ladies on walks every Saturday afternoon. She was instrumental in making this grand party such an immense success by her recruiting so many volunteers. The group of volunteers worked together to make a delicious meal, beautiful individual flower arrangements (by LA) and some fun (and vintage-inspired) decorations. It was one of the most fun and well-spent afternoons I've seen in a long time... watching the look of excitement and glee as the women entered the dining room and saw the beautifully planned party in their honor was a special moment!

weekend

I don't know about everyone else, but this week really wore me out. I'm snuggled up in my apt, away from the cold air and frigid wind, and I plan to stay here...er, until the morning anyway. I've got a fun weekend ahead with birthday celebrations, party planning and more. I better rest up so I can get through it all.

Happy Friday y'all!

meatloaf smeatloaf double-beatloaf, i hate meatloaf

Not this meatloaf, though. A few weeks ago Brendan and I went to dinner at a new spot called Eatery - new to me, not to him. It was my third week at my new job and I wanted to relax with some good home-cookin', comfort food after work (...that I hadn't cooked myself). I voted for one spot, Brendan voted for another, and we ended up here.

Then I saw this menu item:

White Cheddar Meatloaf: with Beer Battered Onion Rings, Buttermilk Mashed Potatoes and White Cheddar Fondue

I've never been much of a fan of meatloaf, but the waiter convinced me that it was the best thing on the menu, so I gave it a shot. He also said that it had recently been ranked in the Top 10 comfort foods in New York City last fall. Even better. (He must have overheard my conversation with Brendan telling him that I wanted "comfort food") So I tried it... and I haven't looked back since!
