taylor swift's photo

If you follow Taylor Swift on twitter (who doesn't, right?), you may have seen this picture in a tweet from her on Saturday night.

This is a photo from her concert at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Iβ€”along with 55,000 other teenyboppersβ€”was there!!! It was a wonderfully entertaining time, and I have more pictures to share. But thanks to TSwift for kindly letting me use her photo for now.

Apple's new CEO

I'm sure Tim Cook (Apple's newly appointed CEO in light of Steve Jobs's resignation) and I have a lot more in common than just this, but this is probably the greatest similarity:

5. He's a fan of Bob Dylan's and a diehard Auburn University football fanatic
Similar to Jobs, Cook is a Bob Dylan zealot. Yet one of his biggest passions is the Auburn Tigers football team. (Cook graduated from the university with a degree in industrial engineering.) The walls of his home and office are reportedly filled with War Eagle knick-knacks.

Yep that's right. Mr. Cook and I share the same alma mater. Maybe he will give us all free iPads?

an Idol to support?

If you're into American Idol this season or ever have been, you should check out former Auburn student Paul McDonald who made it through J.Lo, Steven Tyler and Randy-dawg last week with flying colors. His sister and I were in the same sorority, and we had the privilege of having Paul (who was quite the local celebrity on campus during my term at Auburn, for obvious reasons) play at some of our charity events. He is the lead singer for a group called The Grand Magnolias (formerly Hightide Blues) and is now making his way in Hollywood!

He's got my vote! But, apparently, he's not lacking in support...

"weekend update"

with Tina Fey! Except she wasn't on the set of SNL on Saturday afternoon, she was in Sheep Meadow in Central Park, sitting 10 feet away from me and Pamela. This was one of the most fun celebrity sightings I've had in the Big Apple. We could hear her talking, as we stealthily listened in on every word we could hear, and wore our sunglasses so she wouldn't know we were staring at her for over an hour.

a wise little girl

I agree, Grace is a wise little girl. And watching this makes me tear up...but there's no surprise there.

thanks, Mom for telling me about this clip!

live with regis and kelly

Yesterday morning, my roommate Margaret and I braved the 6:30 AM wake up call and waited in the standby line for tickets to see Live with Regis and Kelly. Luckily we didn't have far to go and ended up being the second and third person in line! We got tickets and got second row seats to see the show. My great affinity for the show has definitely died down since high school and college, but it was slightly rekindled yesterday...
