can't believe it's almost here!!

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is coming out this Friday, er, technically Thursday at midnight (which, of course, happens to be when I'm going)! I can't believe it's finally here, but I cannot wait... I'm a little more nervous about the midnight showing this time since I'll have work the next day, but it will be completely worth it. And what boss wouldn't be thrilled about me participating in such a monumental, end-of-an-era event?!

Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe, and Emma Watson are pictured above at the New York City premiere last night just a few blocks from my apartment! Wish I had been there.

gerda weissmann klein

Kat, Julie and I went to the Holocaust Museum this weekend while Kat and I were visiting. We watched this clip at the end of the tour about how Gerda Weissmann Klein met her husband Kurt Klein, an American soldier, on liberation day. This museum was both incredibly overwhelming and moving, something everyone should go visit at least once.

[I got this video from Katherine's blog, thanks Kat!]

I returned a few hours ago from a glorious weekend south of the Mason Dixon Line!

Katherine, Michelle and I took a quick trip down for the weekend to our nation's capital to visit friends. This was my fifth time to visit DC, and I have come to the conclusion that I will forever be enamored with this city. Its old southern charm, summers that feel like Alabama, and wonderful, accessible history of our nation made me (for only a second) wonder if I should just skip my bus back to NYC...

More pictures to come from our quick 42-hour rendezvous in DC!

rainbow city

Believe it or not, there was actually a place in New York City called Rainbow City! It was an art exhibit at the end of the newest addition to the Highline, and of course I had to see it. I went last Friday (the exhibit ended on Tuesday) with a coworker and we had a blast. We both agreed we could have stayed in Rainbow City forever, even though there wasn't much too it. Then we walked partially down the Highline which provided some great views. Rainbow City got two thumbs up from me!

day 5: breakfast today

(confession: I eat donuts. And I really like them. But! I don't eat them every day. I splurged for breakfast this morning because I wanted to have something pretty to photograph. That's the truth.)
